Dear Business Neighbor:

The Town of Windermere Tree Board will be hosting the 6th Annual Treebute, Saturday, January 16, 2010, in Windermere Town Square and is looking to our business neighbors to participate.  The purpose of the event is to celebrate Florida Arbor Day, to encourage tree planting, tree care and to expand knowledge of the urban forest we live in. 

This exciting event features a professional tree climbing competition with men and women climbers from 22 States, Canada and the Great Britain.  There is also a tree climb that allows children and adults to experience the wonder of tree climbing with the supervision of professional arborists and the safety of tree climbing ropes, harnesses and helmets. 

In the Windermere Town Square there will be tree adoptions and sales of Florida native hardwood and flowering trees, an “Ask the Arborist” booth, green vendors, artists, music, food, environmental educational groups and prize drawings.  Educational presentations throughout the day by the arborists will demonstrate arboriculture careers, proper tree care and pruning and care of mature trees. 

We would like you to join us in presenting an example filled green festival on January 16, 2010.   Display booth space is available to showcase products from companies, environmental efforts, artwork, outdoor events, horticulture or green services.  This year we ask vendors and exhibitors to think green and vend products that are recyclable, reusable and sustainable.  We ask that literature you give out is recyclable.  The Town of Windermere Tree Board was presented with the prestigious Florida Tree City of the Year award in 2009 by the Urban Forestry Council at the Trees Florida Conference 2009.  We’d like to continue our efforts and lead by example.   

We look forward to sharing a beautiful Arbor Day Treebute together full of forward thinking, environmentally aware citizens and businesses.
